Indolent Systemic Mastocytosis
๐Overview
Indolent systemic mastocytosis (ISM) is a subtype of systemic mastocytosis characterized by the accumulation of abnormal mast cells in various organs, primarily the bone marrow, without evidence of aggressive disease or organ damage. It is considered the most common and least severe form of systemic mastocytosis. The term 'indolent systemic mastocytosis' is the modern preferred terminology, replacing older or less specific labels related to systemic mast cell disorders.
