Pick's Disease
๐Overview
Pick's disease is a legacy term historically used to describe a subtype of frontotemporal dementia (FTD), now more commonly referred to as frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) with Pick bodies. It is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive deterioration of the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, leading to changes in behavior, personality, and language. Modern terminology favors frontotemporal dementia or FTLD over the eponym Pick's disease.
