Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
๐Overview
This condition occurs when the small blood vessels in the lungs become narrowed, blocked, or destroyed, making it harder for blood to flow through them. This resistance increases the pressure within the pulmonary arteries and requires the right side of the heart to work harder to pump blood. Over time, the heart muscle weakens and can eventually fail. Symptoms often include shortness of breath, fatigue, and chest pain.
