Unstable Angina
๐Overview
Unstable angina is a type of acute coronary syndrome characterized by sudden chest pain or discomfort due to reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. It is considered a medical emergency and indicates a high risk of progressing to myocardial infarction (heart attack). Unstable angina differs from stable angina in that symptoms occur unpredictably, often at rest or with minimal exertion, and are more severe or prolonged. It is part of the spectrum of ischemic heart disease.
